Design of carbonate sand beaches in Barbados

In this study different factors involved in establishing a sediment budget for design of a carbonate sand beach are discussed. A new hybrid method is presented for long-term prediction of beach sediment volume. The method consists of developing a simple numerical model that utilizes encapsulated morphodynamic response of the complex process-based 1D and 2D models and steppes through a time series of hourly wave data to predict beach erosion and accretion response over a period of several decades.
