The photoisomerizations of protonated Schiff base derivatives of some enals

Abstract

Protonated n- and t-butyl Schiff base derivatives of some enals have been characterized and shown to undrego efficient cis-trans isomerization about both the CN and CC double bonds in stronge acid media (H2SO4 and CF3CO2H).
