HELPING FAMILIES RESPOND EFFECTIVELY TO CHRONIC ILLNESS

Abstract

This paper describes the functioning patterns of twenty families with one member on home dialysis. It also includes a description of task accomplishment, role performance, communication, affective involvement and control. It reports some findings related to marital satisfaction from a retrospective study of 291 home dialysis patients and their spouses in sixteen Ontario centres.
