Silicon nitride on-chip spatial heterodyne Fourier-transform spectrometer with high étendue and broadband operation

Abstract

The miniaturization provided by silicon photonics offers tantalizing prospects for the realization of high- performance optical spectrometers in extremely compact and robust form factors. Here we demonstrate a broadband silicon nitride spatial heterodyne Fourier-transform spectrometer chip implementing a large-surface multiaperture input to achieve a high étendue.
