GENERAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR CLAY CORE ROCKFILL DAMS.
Abstract
The paper proposes a mathematical model that combines the consolidation model based on R. S. Sandhu's finite element solution for the clay core and a new rheological model for the movement prediction of the rockfill shell. The solution technique allows for analytical simulation of construction sequences and of reservoir filling. Movements and pore pressures predicted by the model are compared with measurements from two Romanian dams, and the results are in good agreement. Refs.
