AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION AND STORAGE OF MOTOR UNIT ACTION POTENTIALS.
Abstract
A technique is reported which automatically detects the occurrence of motor unit action potentials (MUAP's) and subsequently stores the consecutive MUAP's as a digitally sampled record in a file on a mass storage disk. The MUAP's time of occurrence is also stored in a separate file. This results in a compressed representation of the original signal with the intervals between MUAP firings deleted. The files created can then be easily accessed for subsequent MUAP data analysis.
