Hydrogen peroxide effects on the contractile force and coronary flow of the rat isolated heart

Abstract

In previous experiments it was observed that hydrogen peroxide (HP) has an inotropic effect on atrial strips from frogs, rats, dogs and man. In this experiment, using the rat isolated heart, it was shown that HP induced an increase in the contractile force and reduced the coronary flow.
