Abstract
ABSTRACT It is difficult to maintain a proper balance between hyperoxemia and hypoxemia, and between hypocapnia and hypercapnia, when resuscitating severely asphyxiated infants. Hyperoxemia may be especially dangerous to the brain during reperfusion after severe asphyxia.
