Inside Cover: Sol–Gel‐Derived Biohybrid Materials Incorporating Long‐Chain DNA Aptamers (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 36/2017)

Abstract

Functional DNA biohybrids of macroporous silica material incorporating megadalton mass amplicons of tandem‐repeating DNA aptamers are shown in the picture. In their Communication on page 10686 ff., Y. Li, J. D. Brennan et al. report that these materials can be used as flow‐based biosensors for multiplexed detection of a wide range of targets, greatly expanding the utility of sol‐‐gel‐derived biohybrid materials.
