Chapter
Intention in Bimanual Coordination Performance and Learning
Abstract
George Miller used to say to graduate students, “I can foul up any one of your experiments by an act of will” (Miller, 1986 p 221). Although Miller was making an editorial comment on the behaviorist tradition, an important lesson for all was that even the most clever experimental design can be compromised by the intentions of the research participant (deliberate or not).
