Dual-Band Polarization-Independent Subwavelength Grating Coupler for Wavelength Demultiplexing

Abstract

We propose a novel polarization-independent grating coupler working as a wavelength splitter for both 1310 nm and 1550 nm using subwavelength grating structures on a 500-nm-thick SOI platform. This low-cost and efficient dual-band grating coupler can be used for wavelength-division-multiplexing systems in fiber-to-the-home networks.
