A Simple and Effective Compensation Method for Inverter Nonlinearity

Abstract

In this paper, a simple and effective compensation method is proposed for inverter nonlinearity. First, a new measuring method of inverter voltage drop using two phases is proposed to obtain the curve of correlation between phase current and inverter voltage drop. Since the curve is obtained through experimental measurement under different currents, the effect of junction temperature on inverter voltage drop is also considered in this curve. Then, a look-up table based compensation method is proposed to eliminate the adverse impact of inverter nonlinearity on motor control. The compensation accuracy can be greatly improved by utilizing the current references and angle offset in the compensation method. Experimental verification is presented to prove the validity of the proposed method.
