Integrating aptamers with paper-based microscale analytical devices for biomedical monitoring

SELEX was used to generate a DNA aptamer for C. difficile and a DNA enzyme for H. pylori These were integrated into colorimetric and fluorimetric assays that were utilized on paper-based microscale analytical devices (µPADs). The µPADs could detect these organisms directly in unprocessed fecal samples.
