Community Engaged Research
Overview
Overview
abstract
The aim of the present project is to provide quantitative and qualitative knowledge about LGBTQ+ employment in northern and southern Ontario, regions characterized by resource and manufacturing. The project surveyed over 600 and interviewed 50 LGBTQ+ workers living in Sudbury and Windsor. The research team is working with unions to understand how regional cultures influenced the work experience of LGBTQ+ people and whether collective representation promotes inclusion and mitigates adverse employment industrial histories.
