Thoracic versus lumbar epidural fentanyl for postthoracotomy pain

Abstract

Thirty patients were prospectively randomized to receive either thoracic or lumbar epidural fentanyl infusion for postthoracotomy pain. Epidural catheters were inserted, and placement was confirmed with local anesthetic testing before operation.
