IMPROVEMENTS TO ADAPTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION.

Abstract

Using the weighted exact least-squares algorithm in the joint estimation form where adaptation can be controlled, the authors demonstrate a crosstalk-resistant adaptive noise cancellation method. After showing that the original signal cannot be recovered if the ability to prevent adaptation does not exist, they discuss a method which utilizes the weighted lattice to recover the signal. Simulated data are used where signal crosstalk is as severe as 0 dB, to demonstrate the method. Results show that signal can be estimated with good accuracy, even when there is signal crosstalk in the reference input. 17 refs.
