Behavioral human factors of telemedical communications for terrestrial and spaceflight

Abstract

This panel presents an overview of research to examine team hehaviour and coordination in remote tele-medical care. Authors describe the use of high fidelity simulation at Arctic and remote stations to study processes related to the provision of medical care in spaceflight. Focus is on defining team coordination behaviours, and reviewing current methods of identifying ideal behavioural markers of good and poor performance for teams employed in such high technology, safety critical settings.
