Void fraction profile in subcooled water-steam condensing flow

Abstract

Axial void fraction profiles in subcooled water-steam bubbly flow were obtained using gamma radiation technique for different levels of mass flux, inlet void fraction and inlet subcooling. Predictions of a two-fluid model developed for axial void fraction profile were compared with experimental data obtained in our laboratory and available data from the literature. The applicability of the correlations developed for the interfacial transport phenomena in condensing liquid-vapour bubbly flow by Zeitoun et al. /1/ and /2/ were examined. Good agreement was obtained between the proposed two-fluid model and the experimental data.
