Production aspects of a large blast furnace

No.8 Blast Furnace (3800 m³) at WISCO began production in 2009. Since then, the quality of iron ores charged to the furnace has gradually declined and a series of measures have been taken in order to ensure that productivity and economic considerations are successfully maintained. As a result, the coal gas utilization rate has increased to 49.5%, process parameters have been optimized, and an ironmaking operation with high productivity and low cost using a large size blast furnace has been established.
