All optical variable-in variable-out wavelength converters based on MgO doped LiNbO3 quasi-phase matched waveguides

Abstract

The variable-in variable-out wavelength conversions based on MgO doped lithium niobate (LN) quasi-phase matched waveguides was demonstrated. Wavelength converter contained periodically domain inverted grating and a channel waveguide formed on a 5 mol% MgO doped LN substrate. The device operation temperature was changed to enhance the pump wavelength tolerance. Spectra and power of the output light from the wavelength converter were measured using an optical spectrum analyzer.
