78.4: Compact high power modulated green laser for laser display

Abstract

In this paper we report a modulated laser-diode pumped microchip green laser based on optical-contact Nd:YVO4/periodically poled MgO:LiNbO3 (Nd:YVO4/PPMgLN) crystal. A linearly polarized green light peak power as high as 541.5 mW was obtained for the first time, which corresponds to an electrical-to-optical efficiency of 13.9%. The maximum electrical-to-optical efficiency was 16.25%.
