LARGE ANGLE DIFFERENTIAL SCATTERING CROSS-SECTIONS FOR VARIOUS IONS (2 less than equivalent to Z1 less than equivalent to 10) IN THE 65-135 keV ENERGY RANGE.

Abstract

This paper measured values of the differential scattering cross-section at a large scattering angle ( theta //l//a//b equals 150 degree ) for H, D, He, Li, B, C, N and Ne in the energy range approximately equals 65-135 keV. the results, obtained by backscattering the light mass particles (2 less than equivalent to Z//1 less than equivalent to 10) from thin ( approximately equals 1 nm) gold films in a UHV environment, are compared with current theoretical predictions as well as other recent cross-section investigations. A distinction is drawn between data obtained in the large scattering angle regime and other results acquired in the small angle regime.
