State of the Art Power Management Algorithms for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Hybrid electric vehicles are proposed to reduce the fuel consumption and emission while sustaining performance of the vehicle. The key point to use the full potential of hybridization is designing a proper supervisory control strategy, which manages how to split the demanded power between energy sources in the most efficient and optimum way. This paper compares and classifies control strategies according to their dynamic structure, complexness, applicability and performance.
