Amplitude jitter due to stimulated Raman scattering among channels of a wavelength division multiplexed system

Abstract

We calculate the amplitude jitter created by stimulated Raman scattering between signal channels of a wavelength division multiplexed system, accounting for group velocity dispersion. Populating C- and L-bands leads to a 5 dB drop in $Q$ vs. populating the C-band alone.
