Cross-phase modulation between optical waves of different frequencies in birefringent fibers

The cogeneration of a pair of optical waves of dissimilar frequencies in single mode birefringent fibers was examined. It was taken for granted that the partial waves of the first wave was along the two main axes of the fiber while the second wave was propelled near the slow axis. Moreover, cw beams modulation instability investigation was performed for strongly birefringent fibers and for low-birefringent fibers.
