Electromagnetic Synthesis: A Novel Concept in Microwave Design

We present a novel approach to electromagnetic synthesis of microwave structures. A standard field analysis obtains the structure response and the field distribution on the optimizable boundary parts of a starting geometry. A number of characteristic frequencies that correspond to the degrees of freedom of the structure are determined. For each degree of freedom a synthesis phase is performed.
