DESIGN METHOD OF FIR NARROW BAND DIGITAL FILTERS SUITABLE FOR MINI-COMPUTERS.

Abstract

A simplified method of designing FIR filters is proposed. Using multistage and multirate concepts, the problem of designing a high-order FIR filter is replaced by that of designing a group of low-order subfilters. It results in enormous savings both in the amount of computation and computer memory required. The method is especially suitable for the design of high-order narrow band FIR filters using minicomputers.
