NATURE OF POWER SPECTRA OF CLINICAL BRAINSTEM AUDITORY EVOKED POTENTIALS.
Abstract
Brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEPs) are routinely employed in the diagnosis of neurological diseases. BAEPs are generated due to the passage of auditory stimuli through the peripheral brainstem. This paper describes results of power spectral analysis of normal and some pathological BAEPs. The spectral analysis results suggest that cut-off frequency of more than 1500 Hz is needed, especially in recording abnormal BAEPs.
