On how polymers strengthen filled papers

Abstract

1. Delamination force decreases exponentially with inter-ply filler content. 2. Smallest filler particles show the biggest effect. 3. Spiky scalenohedral particles lower paper strength more than do smooth prismatic particles 4. Spherical particles lower paper strength more than do flat or "plate-shaped" particles.
