Design considerations for full scale ZeeWeed AnMBR by means of BMP testing

Abstract

The GE ZeeWeed AnMBR solution has been commercialized based on 10 years of internal and external collaboration with various customers and partners at GE WPT. This paper is intended as a guide for the design of the GE AnMBR system using the ZeeWeed series of hollow fiber membrane products. As BMP and pilot data comparison demonstrates, the tailored BMP protocol detailed in this paper has become the key intermediate step for the design process of the GE AnMBR system. With the tailored BMP protocol, the authors can determine the potential methane gas generation, ideal membrane operating flux, and AnMBR final effluent quality, which can then be utilized for full-scale process design.
