Experiments on simulated wind-induced water currents.

Abstract

Investigations are reported for the physics of wind induced water circulation in lakes and small ocean bays. An experimental facility, originally designed for the study of plane Couette flow of air, was modified for simulated wind induced water currents. The apparatus is described and some scale effects are discussed. (from authors' abstract)
