Density of states plots for hydrogen bonded crystals: Results for formamide, formic acid and urea crystals

Abstract

Density of state plots are reported for the formamide, formic acid and urea crystals. It is found that the hydrogen bonding within the crystal lattice strongly disperses some molecular levels while leaving others relatively unaffected. It is suggested that this may provide means whereby ESCA could be used to investigate hydrogen bonding in crystals.
