Benchmarking the Evaluation of Control Strategies in Wastewater Treatment: The Four-Year Story of the Cost Benchmark
Abstract
Within the framework of two COST Actions, a benchmark for wastewater treatment defined as a simulation model of the plant, plant layout, influent load, controllers, performance criteria and test procedures, has been developed to compare new control strategies and promote their application. This text describes the rationale and the milestones of the benchmark, its present state and the forthcoming developments.
