The role of carbon on the kinetics of bainite transformation in steels

Abstract

The roles of carbon, cementite precipitation and substitutional alloying elements are discussed with respect to their effects on the bainite transformation kinetics. Our description of the nucleation and growth steps has allowed the derivation of a kinetic model for the overall transformation.
