Toward an understanding of the leptoproduction R ratio

We derive an upper bound for the leptoproduction R ratio and compare it with the data. In the large Q2 limit, the upper bound for R is 2M2x2Q2 and yields an average primordial transverse momentum of 335 MeV for the struck quark.
