Landlords, tenants, and the legal status of secondary suites in Hamilton, Ontario
Abstract
Key Messages Secondary suites contain lower‐income tenants. Half of all tenants in secondary suites are unsure about the legal status of their apartments. Tenants in small properties owned by resident landlords are the most satisfied.
