Abstract

Forced labour is more than simply working in poor conditions for low wages. It involves the additional violation of workers' freedoms such as restricting the movement of workers, withholding wages or identity documents (such as passports), threatening or inflicting physical and sexual violence or demanding work to service fraudulent or exorbitant debts.
