abstract

• AbstractWe develop a robust classification procedure, based on TIKU'S (1967, 1980, 1982) MML (modified maximum likelihood) estimators, for classifying an observation in one of the two populations π1 and π2 and show that this procedure is superior to the classical and nonparametric procedures.
