Fermion electric dipole moments and CP violation in left-right models

Abstract

We compute within left-right symmetric models two-loop contributions to the neutron and electron electric dipole moments. For conservative choices for the values of unknown parameters the two-loop result can be the dominant contribution and can be near the present experimental limit. We compare the size of the contributions due to quark electric- and chromoelectric moments with each other and with that from Weinberg's three-gluon operator and outline under which circumstances each gives the largest contribution.
