Lossless and lossy compression of DNA microarray images
Abstract
A new method for lossless compression of DNA microarray images is described. In the method, first spots are automatically detected and extracted. Then a new spiral path scanning technique is employed to transform the 2D spot to a 1D sequence. Prediction coding of the achieved sequence was done using linear interpolation. An algorithm for lossy compression of microarray images is also described.
