A method of processing unknown attribute values by ID3

The original inductive learning algorithm ID3 assumes that all attribute values of all examples are available both within the learning and classification process. Several techniques of processing of unknown attribute values by ID3 have been designed and implemented. The paper firstly briefly surveys these techniques, then discusses the authors' modified technique for unknown value processing and compares some of the techniques.<>
