Abstract

Background. Perinatal HIV transmission is less than 1% with antiretroviral (ARV) prophylaxis. Transmission risk appears higher in "high risk" dyads, yet this is not well defined, possibly exposing more infants to combination ARV compared with standard care. Objective.
