Scattering of electromagnetic waves from a time‐varying fractal surface Journal Articles

abstract

• AbstractA time‐varying band‐limited fractal model is proposed for modeling rough surfaces. The Kirchhoff approximation is used to obtain the backscattering field from this surface. A K‐distributed intensity fluctuation is observed for the distribution of the field amplitude. When the numerical results are compared with previous experimental work [1], good agreement is observed. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
