Paul McNicholas
Professor, Mathematics and Statistics

Dr. Paul McNicholas is a Professor and University Scholar in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University, where he is also Director of the MacDATA Institute. Dr. McNicholas is the (Tier 1) Canada Research Chair in Computational Statistics and a member of The College of the Royal Society of Canada. His research focuses on computational statistics, especially mixture model-based clustering and classification. Current research includes work on non-Gaussian mixtures, matrix variate distributions, and real problems in big data analytics. Research group currently comprises a PDF, eight Ph.D. students, two Master's students, and two undergraduate researchers.
