Anne-Marie Livingstone’s research explores the intersections between politics, public policy, and racism in the Canadian settler colonial context. The goal is to build knowledge of the ways by which public institutions perpetuate and exacerbate racism and racial inequality. She has written articles about Black political mobilization and anti-racism policy, racism in policing, and the impact of systemic inequality on Black families and children. Dr. Livingstone is currently working on two projects: a study about Black and Indigenous resistance to police violence in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), and a project examining the significance of anti-black racism to the politics of law-and-order in the Quebec context.
