Cree’s Professional Background
Cree has worked in the helping professions for over twenty five years, bringing a depth of experience that spans education, policy, leadership, and psychotherapy. Her background includes roles as a political aide, elementary school teacher, learning centre director, and Registered Psychotherapist, each of which informs her thoughtful, systems aware approach to clinical work, supervision, and mentorship.
Cree is affiliated with McMaster University through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, where she supports the training and development of emerging clinicians. Her work includes hosting graduate student placements, contributing to the Professional Competencies Program through supervision and applied clinical mentorship, collaborating with colleagues connected to the Student Wellness Centre, and participating in interdisciplinary and grant related projects focused on student wellbeing and mental health care.
Cree is a Registered Psychotherapist, Ontario Certified Teacher, and Clinical Supervisor. She holds specializations in perinatal mental health, walk and talk eco therapy, mindfulness, and the Rewind Technique for Trauma. Her clinical orientation is relational and integrative, drawing from mindfulness based approaches, emotion focused therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed interventions, non violent communication, and humanistic principles of care.
