Spring update: embeddable video and co-author networks come to researcher profiles
The McMaster Experts development team is excited to share two features newly introduced to Experts profiles:
- YouTube videos can be added to Experts profile overview pages as a video gallery.
- Co-author network visualizations for researchers are now available from their Scholarly Works lists.
These features were implemented based on user feedback and aim to provide researchers with a new way to promote their work, for public audiences to engage with it, and to demonstrate their collaborations and cross-disciplinary relationships.

New profile features: featured publications and collaboration opportunities
The McMaster Experts development team is pleased to announce two new profile features:
- The ability for researchers profiled in Experts to “favourite” scholarly works, promoting them to the top of their scholarly works list.
- The introduction of “Availabilities”, allowing researchers profiled in Experts to indicate the types of collaboration opportunities they are seeking.
These features were implemented based on user feedback with the goal of giving researchers more control over how their work is presented, and improving their ability to reach prospective students and collaborators.
Researchers profiled in Experts are invited to consult the Experts user guide for detailed information about favouriting scholarly works and adding availability labels to their profiles. McMaster Experts has a new look!
The McMaster Experts site has undergone a refresh, featuring an improved interface with enhanced information, functionality, visuals, and performance that better present McMaster’s researchers, their expertise and scholarly activities to the world. The updates include significant changes to modernize Experts’ web infrastructure, creating a more dynamic and responsive development environment.
