BACKGROUND: Prior studies show that left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony (LVD), measured by gated SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), identifies patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) at higher risk for all-cause mortality but these were in small number of patients.
