Management and monitoring of anticoagulation for children undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass in cardiac surgery.

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) creates a pro-coagulant state by causing platelet activation and inflammation leading to thrombin generation and platelet dysfunction.
