Measuring Environmental Factors

Abstract

Colleagues within and outside the profession of occupational therapy have long acknowledged the influences of attitudinal, cultural, institutional, physical, and social environmental factors on human behavior, on participation in occupation, and on health and well-being. Since the publication of the International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (ICF) in 2001, 1 there has been greater attention toward developing and using assessments of environmental factors in occupational therapy and rehabilitation practice.
